Concept

Existing transmissions are toolarge and has a complex structure, so it can not be used for all machines equipped with electric motors. It has been used only for internal combustion engine vehicles using gasoline or diesel.

The newly developed fifth-generation transmission

has a simple structure and is the first in the world to be used for all vehicles using electric motors. In the case of electric cart, it was proven in the test that the efficiency is three times.

Currently, all electric vehicles around the world are using only reduction gears (corresponding to the first stage of the existing transmission) to turn wheels by reducing the speed of the main motor.

Although the 3^rd and 4^th generation transmission were developed for improving the existing transmissions in use, they are less useful due to their inherent shortcomings, but this 5^th generation transmission was able to overcome all these shortcomings at once. The name, 5^th CGVT, was given by world-renowned transmission experts at SAE 2011 World Congress.

Particularly hydrogen electric vehicle (hydrogen fuel cell vehicles), which are in the spotlight as a major national policy these days, can reduce the amount of hydrogen required to 1/3 (or6/1²⁾), which is expected to maintain superior economic efficiency than any other hydrogen vehicle in the world.

As mentioned earlier, 3 times efficiency had been proved in the test of electric cart (cart116), while the theory of 6 times efficiency has been established and waiting for patent registration and its test confirmation is to be planned in a test car

Problems to be solved in the current electric vehicle power

Until now, transmissions have been used to increase power efficiency in all automobiles, but electric vehicles are operated only in the form of a single-stage gear box because of proper transmissions have not been developed

Power efficiency is very poor as vehicle starts and operates in the same gear in low-speed selection and high-speed driving, so there is a limitation on the distance that can be driven when charging electric vehicle once (300km-400km when charged once)

When applying 5^th CGVT, it is possible to drive more than twice (800km) compared to the existing mileage by increasing power efficiency, preventing heat generation by lowering the power used, and improving driving safety because there is no impact during gear shifting and control is easy.

In addition, by exerting gear power with a smaller motor than before, production cost of batteries and motors is greatly reduced, resulting in high price competitiveness.
